Bay Area Turning Point Grew Out Of The Need For Local Crisis Intervention Services And Shelter For The Cities And Communities That Make Up The Bay Area Outside Of Houston, Texas. The Local United Way Service Center And St. John Hospital Recognized A Growing Need For Assistance To Survivors Of Family Violence And Sexual Assault. Services Began In 1992 And A 55 Person Capacity Shelter For Women And Their Children Was Built In 1996. The Agency Has An Outreach And Administration Office And A Resale Shop.
