The Purpose Of Hands On! The Hudson Valley Is To Support Over 300 Local Non-Profit Agencies In The Hudson Valley With Volunteer Assistance. To This End We Promote Volunteerism Through Our Web-Site, Community Presentations, Community Partnerships And Work With Local Media. Once Recruited, Volunteers Are Interviewed To Establish Their Interests And Matched With A Local Non-Profits In Need Of Service. A Secondary Purpose Of Hands On! Is To Administer Programs That Include A Volunteer Component, Namely The Ombudsman Program Which Recruits, Trains, Places And Supervises Volunteers To Serve As Advocates In Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Enriched Housing Facilities And Family Type Homes.
