New Direction Services Was Founded In Response To The Need To Provide Groceries To The Elderly After Finding Out At A Cooking Class That They Run Out Of Resources To Buy Food Every Month When Social Security Checks Are Used Up On Rent, Utilities, Medical Etc. Our Book Program Was Founded After Hearing From Many Poor Parents That They Could Not Afford To Purchase Books For Their Children And Wished That They Would Succeed In Schools. Through This Program We Distribute Books And Educate Parents And Children About The Importance Of Reading. The Cultural Awareness Program Grew Out Of A Need To Address Bias Incidence And Vandalism On The Free Slave Cemetery And A Jewish Cemetery On Staten Island. As A Result We Provide Workshops, Conferences And Forums Educating The Public And Celebrating The Multicultural Experiences.
