Renascer Was Founded By Dr. Vera Cordeiro In 1991 After Realizing The Constant Readmission Cycle Of Children In The Pediatric Unit Of Hospital Da Lagoa, A Public Hospital In Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Many Children Would Be Release Just To Return To The Hospital, Many Times In Worse Condition. Many Diseases Are Caused Or Exacerbated By Poverty. Children Are Discharged From Hospitals To The Same Conditions That Produced The Disease. Therefore, In Order To Treat The Child, The Family And Its Environment Need To Be Taken Into Consideration.Renascer's Mission Is To Provide Assistance To Children And Families From Hospital Da Lagoa With The Objective Of Promoting Self-Sufficiency And Breaking The Admission/Readmission Cycle.
