Cobb Microenterprise Center Is The First Community Microenterprise Model In The United States. Four Organizations From Georgias Cobb County Community Came Together To Address Economic Development For Low- To Moderate-Income Residents Of Cobb County And Surrounding Metro Atlanta Counties. Not Content To Limit Their Assistance To Crisis Intervention, They Sought A Lasting Vehicle For Eradicating The Cycle Of Poverty One Family At A Time. To Date, Cobb Microenterprise Center Has Graduated Over 293 Individuals With Microbusinesses From Our Training Program. The Organization Is A United Way Grant Recipient And Also Receives Funding From Several Other Philanthropic Foundations. We Are Affiliated With The Michael J. Coles College Of Business At Kennesaw State University In Kennesaw, Ga. Our Mission Is To Create Opportunities For Long-Term Economic Self-Sufficiency And Successful Entrepreneurship Through Comprehensive Entrepreneurial Training For Low- To Moderate-Income Individuals And Communities Aspiring To Create Microenterprise Programs.
