The Lawrenceville Housing Corporation (Lhc) Serves As Adjunct To The Lawrenceville Housing Authority (Lha). Due To Its Nature And Relationship With The Department Of Housing And Urban Development, Lha Is Unable To Perform Some Functions That The Lhc Is Capable Of Performing. These Functions Include The Receiving Of Contributions From Other Organizations And The Providing Of Funding For Amenities Such As Central Air Conditioning And Cosmetic Improvements. These Funds Will Provide Better Housing And Social Services, Primarily For Residents Living Within The Lawrenceville Housing Authority. Donations To The Lhc Enable The Lawrenceville Housing Authority To Create And Expand Community Programs Such As Our Senior Assistance Program Which Currently Is Available To Assist Any Elderly Resident In Gwinnett County, Ga.Silver Threads And Golden Needles (Stgn) Is A Lawrenceville Housing Authority Program Supported By County-Wide Collaboration, Including The The Partnership For Community Action. Stgn Is Dedicated To Enhancing The Lives Of Residents By Providing Qualified Volunteers As Well As Providing Informational Assistance To Residents. S.T.G.N. Is An Out-Reach Program That Offers Residents And Senior Citizens A Variety Of Services Including; Companionship, Activities, Technological Assistance, Workshops And On-Going Educational Endeavors. S.T.G.N. Is A Non-Profit Organization Developed To Fill The Continuing Needs Of All Our Residents Within Gwinnett County, Ga. Volunteers (Silver Threads) Are Matched With Residents (Golden Needles) According To Individual Needs, Location And Interests.S.T.G.N. Is Comprised Entirely Of Volunteers Who Assist Residents With A Variety Of Needs.S.T.G.N. Participates In Offers An Expanded Agenda With Many Additional Opportunities For Volunteers And Residents. Additionally, S.T.G.N. Offers No Cost Technology Training And Computer Education For Residents As Well As Anyone In Need Of Further Education.
