About Helping Others Provide Encouragement Ministries
Hope Family Shelter Was Begun In 1993 As A Refuge For Homeless Families. The Families Have An Opportunity To Stay In A Fully Furnished Apartment For 60 Days. No Fees Are Charged For Services At The Shelter Including Food, Rent And Utilities. Clothing And Other Household Items Are Often Donated To The Shelter And Passed On To The Residents. Employment And Housing Assistance Is Available. There Is A Nutrition Education-Training Course Required For All Residents. There Is A Requirement To Begin Welfare-To-Work (Calworks) If The Resident Is Not Currently Employed. Optional Classes Include Christian Family Guidelines And An Independent Bible Study. Individual Counseling Is Available Through Volunteer Counselors. The Shelter Was Begun Through An Effort Of The Manteca Ministerial Association And Most Of Our Private Donations Come Through The Churches And Their Members. Service Organizations And Local Businesses Also Contribute To The Shelter.
